Manchester United target Toby Savin ended up missing out on a dream move to Old Trafford twice after failing two different medicals.
Savin, who was playing for Accrington Stanley at the time, had been presented with the opportunity to become third-choice keeper at United behind Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. But the English shot-stopper, who was also being tracked by Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, failed a medical which ruined his chances of moving to the club in the middle of the 2023/24 campaign.
Another chance to head to United cropped up when Savin, 23, was released by Accrington in the summer, but the The Sun reports that the medical was once again the stumbling block for the keeper. The player had been struggling with a shoulder injury which had kept him sidelined for months, meaning he made just nine appearances in League Two last season.

However, while the injury robbed him of a fairytale switch to Old Trafford, Shrewsbury weren't phased by the medical results and signed him on a two-year deal at the beginning of the summer transfer window.
Speaking on Savin's move, his new manager Paul Hurst said: "Toby attracted interest from clubs higher up the leagues. He is a player with plenty of potential and has all the attributes to be a really good goalkeeper. Our job is to make sure he fulfils that and becomes the best version of himself."
While the attitude is positive around Savin's transfer to Shrewsbury, the goalkeeper has yet to join up with the club during pre-season thanks to his injury. He has missed
