Emmerdale fans 'work out' what Craig will do next as they scream 'he's not' over heartbreaking Lydia storyline

Emmerdale fans claim they know what Craig Reed will do next as Lydia Dingle keeps his attack on her a secret. Viewers of the ITV soap have been left heartbroken as they watch the much-loved character struggle after Craig raped her in horrifying scenes.

Lydia and Craig came back into contact during scenes aired last month (August) after he spotted her at a jobs fair at the Hide. The pair have since been seen bonding after Lydia told Craig she had given birth to their stillborn baby when they were in a teenage relationship while living in the same children's home.

The shocking crime then took place in scenes aired on Tuesday night (September 5) after an uncomfortable Lydia decided to stop working as a cleaner at Craig's gaming company over fears she was leading him on. He refused to accept Lydia's resignation and suggested they could rekindle their childhood romance.

While she tried to tell him she was with Sam and that hadn't changed, he forced himself on Lydia. After the attack, Lydia was devastated but was driven home by her attacker who acted as if what had happened was consensual. Once home, she became shut off from her family before showering, washing away possible evidence if she were to report Craig for what he had done.

She did, however, bag up the clothes she was wearing giving fans hope she'd go to the police. But as she battled with what to do, she ended up burning the clothes in emotional scenes. Then during Thursday night's trip to the Dales (September 8), Lydia was seen going back to work for Craig due to the fact he'd got her stepson Samson work experience.
