Emergency services scrambled after woman in water at Worsley Brook

A woman was rescued from the water in a Salford park this evening after emergency services rushed to the scene.

Police and fire crews were called to Chestnut Road in Eccles shortly before 5pm on Tuesday (August 1) to reports of someone in the water at Worsley Brook.

A young woman was pulled from the water, according to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. The Manchester Evening News understands she was not seriously harmed during the incident.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Shortly before 5pm on Tuesday 1 August, firefighters were called out to Chestnut Road in Eccles to reports of someone in the water.

“Two fire engines from Agecroft and Salford, with a Water Unit from Eccles, quickly attended the scene and assisted in removing a young female from the water. Fire crews were at the scene for approximately one hour.”
