Michael Olise transfer admission made amid Man City links as Premier League rule changes made

Your top Manchester City headlines for the evening of Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Admission on Olise's future amid Man City transfer links

Roy Hodgson admits Crystal Palace face a fight to keep Michael Olise at the club amid links suggesting the winger could move to Manchester City this summer.

A vacancy on the flank in attack has appeared in Pep Guardiola's squad after Riyad Mahrez departed to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia for a £30m transfer fee. It means City could dip into the market as a result.

Links emerged towards the end of last week suggesting that both Chelsea and City have an interest in the winger, who is said to have a release clause of £35m in his Selhurst Park deal. However, it is unclear how concrete the interest from the Etihad Stadium club is at this stage.

Here's what he said.

All the new Premier League rule changes affecting Man City

The new Premier League season begins in less than two weeks and fans of Manchester United and Manchester City are set to see a number of significant changes across the board.

Many will already know about the implementation of prolonged added time, as seen in the World Cup last season. The average length of time the ball was in play during Premier League games last campaign was just 55 minutes.

Time-wasting, long celebrations and natural game pauses were at fault for this and now referees have been asked to carefully time each delay. It’s said that, as a result, the average length of matches could creep up to 100 minutes once this lost time has been added on.

Here are all the details.
