Emergency services block off part of Oldham Road after car smash
Dramatic pictures show the aftermath of a crash on a major city centre road. Emergency services were called to Oldham Road on Saturday morning (March 2) after a car smashed into a traffic light.
Police and fire crews blocked off part of the road to make the area safe following the collision. Thankfully, Greater Manchester Police said no injuries were reported.
Pictures show a black BMW with its bonnet smashed into pieces on the central reservation. Fire crews said they were called to the scene at around 8am.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said:“At around 8am on Saturday 2 March, GMFRS crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Oldham Road, Manchester.
“One fire engine from Manchester Central was quickly mobilised to the scene. The incident involved one car colliding with a traffic light.
“Firefighters used a hearth kit to make the area safe before handing over to Greater Manchester Police. GMFRS crews were in attendance for about 40 minutes.”
