Manchester United confirm two appointments as Sir Jim Ratcliffe changes continue

Manchester United have confirmed the appointments of Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc as directors at the club.

When the Reds announced on Christmas Eve they had reached an agreement had been reached with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS to acquire an approximate 25 per cent stake in the club, it was widely known that Brailsford and Blanc would be entering the boardroom as directors. In Brailsford's case, the cycling supremo has been a noticeable figure at Old Trafford since the turn of the year, keeping a close eye on proceedings and was in the stands at the City Ground on Wednesday night for the FA Cup victory over Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Blanc has yet to be spotted at Old Trafford but is expected to have a lesser role at the club in comparison to Brailsford. The former Juventus CEO holds the same position at INEOS Sport and is responsible for overseeing all their business ventures.

While their arrivals at United were just a formality, they have now been officially confirmed on Companies House. On Friday, the site confirmed the duo had been appointed as directors on Monday, February 19.

Ratcliffe has made another appointment at United since arriving in the form of Omar Berrada becoming CEO. The current Manchester City man will be joining the Reds at the end of the season and has not yet been confirmed albeit this is also seen as a formality.

The new United co-owner is eyeing up a move for Dan Ashworth after he was placed on gardening leave by Newcastle. However, the Magpies are holding out for at least £20m in compensation, which Ratcliffe has described as 'silly'.
