Emergency services swarm Ashton Old Road as motorcyclist taken to hospital following crash with taxi
Emergency services swarmed Ashton Old Road in Openshaw on Tuesday night (March 12) following a crash involving a motorbike and a taxi.
Police and paramedics descended on the main road at around 6pm, before it was cordoned off in both directions. It is understood a motorbike and the taxi, a white car, were involved in a crash with the motorcyclist left with minor injuries.
Pictures from the scene on Tuesday evening show a number of police traffic vehicles and ambulances in attendance. The motorcyclist, whose gender is not known, was taken to hospital from the scene to be treated.

Buses were diverted amid the emergency services response, with Ashton Old Road taped off between Delamere Street and Bowness Street.
A number of police officers could be seen conducting enquiries at the scene. A white taxi was also pictured with a badly damaged front bumper having mounted the pavement following the collision.
Local bus provider Stagecoach posted to X: "Diversion in both directions via Ashton Old Road, Fairfield Road, Ashton Hill Lane and Manchester Road. This is due to a Police incident on Ashton Old Road."
It is understood that no arrests were made in connection with the incident.
