Elden Ring: What carries over to New Game+?

So, you’ve finished Elden Ring; what does New Game+ have in store for you?

Repeat playthroughs are an immense part of most RPGs and that’s particularly true for FromSoftware, as you can unlock multiple endings in the game.

There is a New Game+ option in FromSoft’s latest epic release and you’ll be bringing through a number of items that you’ve already unlocked in your first playthrough.

We’ve had a close look at what carries over to the New Game+, with the help of Push Square’s comprehensive guide.

It’s very easy to start your second, or third, or fourth playthrough of Elden Ring. We trust that you’ve been playing this over and over again so we won’t judge you!

A single playthrough in Elden Ring is called a ‘Journey’.

Now, when you finish the game by beating the final boss and seeing the credits roll, you’ll be asked straight away if you want to go into New Game+.

If you say no, you’ll be back in the Roundtable Hold; from there, you can go back into the world and keep having a look around.

You can keep levelling your character up, upgrading your armour and weapons, and take on optional bosses out in the world.

We’d recommend upgrading as much as you can before you do head into New Game+, so you’ve got all the best kit available to you.

If you want to go into New Game+ later, go back to the Roundtable Hold and rest at the Table of Lost Grace. In the menu, you’ll be able to find an option that says Begin Journey 2.

Select that, and you’ll see your second journey begin.

You will keep your level in Journey 2, so level up as much as you can in the first playthrough, before dropping into your second
