Manchester United's Champions League fears cemented in latest supercomputer prediction

The Premier League computer has been to work again and it makes grim reading for Manchester United fans as Tottenham Hotspur are predicted to pip rivals Arsenal to the final Champions League place.

Mikel Arteta's side saw their impressive away run come to an end on Monday night following a ruthless display from Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace. The defeat came as an unlikely boost for United as it meant the Gunners missed the opportunity to extend their grip of the top four.

Ralf Rangnick's side suffered disappointment on their return to Premier League action on Saturday with a draw with Leicester City. A below-par United earned a point which saw the gap in the race between them and the Champions League places cut to three points, however the latest prediction for the supercomputer spells disappointment for United.

SBK's Supercomputer has been collating the facts and figures once more and has found that Antonio Conte will get one over Arteta in the top four race. United's quest for a place in Europe's elite competition next year is out of their hands with Arsenal still playing a game less than their European rivals.

Sunday's results went in favour of the teams challenging for the top four as both Spurs and West Ham won on Sunday which saw them leapfrog United. Going into this weekend's round of fixtures, United are 8/1 to finish in fourth with the supercomputer pitting them in sixth.

Worse yet for the Old Trafford faithful, City have also been tipped to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title. Although, the two scenarios are arguably bad enough.
