Elden Ring Speedrun Record: What is it? (March 2022)

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring is one of the most successful games to be released in the past decade, and the speedrunning community has already been setting extremely quick records for the new ‘Soulsbourne’ title.

Despite the legendary difficulty of FromSoftware titles, there are players who are able to beat Elden Ring in under half an hour!

Whilst the amount of time for completion will come down to seconds rather than minutes as players discover new quirks in the game, it is unbelievable to see some of the records just over a month since the game was released on Friday 25th March 2022.

Experienced speedrunner Hazebladereleased a video on YouTube showing that they had completed an Any% speedrun of the game in 24:37.

In the caption for the video, they noted: “Huge milestone for Elden Ring Speedrunning! Using ‘The Zip Glitch,’ I was able to save several minutes over my previous World Record and achieve the World’s First Sub 25-Minute Elden Ring Speedrun.

“This speedrun involves the Any% Icerind route and saves several minutes using a glitch.” 

It’s worth noting that an Any% speedrun means that a player does everything they can to roll credits on a game, meaning that there is of course a ton of side content that is neglected.

Hazeblade is able to complete the necessary story points and defeat the right bosses to get an absurd time of 24:37 to roll credits on the game, which is absolutely worth checking out.

As Hazeblade notes, the key to the success of this speedrun is what is known as “The Zip Glitch.”
