Ekitike deal, Wharton in, PSG star signed - Man United best case transfer window scenario

Manchester United face their most pivotal transfer window in recent memory after a disastrous campaign.

Losing the Europa League final and finishing 15th spot in the Premier League means that there will be no European football at Old Trafford for the first time in over a decade. It means United's task of rebuilding under Ruben Amorim has become that little bit harder, for multiple reasons.

The transfer window opened initially for 10 days - from June 1 to June 10 - to allow the clubs competing in the Club World Cup to strengthen their squads before the tournament began. The Reds used that opportunity to secure the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Rumours also swirl around potential departures from Old Trafford. The Manchester Evening News understands that the club is open to offers for any player, as things stand.

And with the transfer window reopening in a couple of days, Isaac Seelochan has taken a look at what a best-case summer would look like for Amorim and the Reds.

United's main focus should be on snapping-up a striker to try and solve their goal-scoring problems. The Reds have reportedly entered the race for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike and, with Liverpool and Chelsea also said to be interested, his signing would be a huge coup.

Frankfurt are said to be demanding around £85million (€100million) for Ekitike, who has four years left on his deal. Negotiating a much lower fee will be needed, but it's a deal United should be pursuing.

Elsewhere, with Amorim being backed to turn things around, the Reds will need better quality wing-backs to suit his system. Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo would be a great signing and a massive upgrade on United's current options in that position.
