Ebbsfleet United manager Josh Wright hopes his team has found form at just the right time as race for promotion in National League South starts to heat up

Ebbsfleet are entering the final third of the season - but manager Josh Wright’s focus is staying laser-sharp.

The Fleet have moved up to fourth spot and sit six points behind leaders Dorking Wanderers with 15 games to play.

They’ll look to extend their run of one defeat in 11 games when they visit relegation-threatened Bath this evening (Tuesday).

“The timing of those three games of conceding and how they all happened… timing in life is crucial, and we might just be timing this quite well,” said Wright.

“There are 14, 15 games, whatever it might be. I try not to focus too much, but we know we're in the middle of February now.

“I know roughly what we've played and what we've got left and who we've got to play. But we have to just keep going.

“We have to just keep chalking the points up. We’ve found form at a good time. Hopefully, we've timed it right because timing in life is massive.

“We just need to keep going, keep focus, keep working, keep recovering, keep working, keep recovering, keep working because it's relentless.

“At some stage, we'll get a little break where we can have a little breather and reset, but we're in a good place. So whilst we're in a good place, long may it continue with the games and hopefully we can keep picking up the points.”

Wright also reflected on the quality of Finlay Barnes after his two goals in last weekend’s 4-0 win over AFC Totton.

The gifted left-footed attacker scored twice against the Stags, and Wright had a feeling he was going to deliver.

“I had a feeling that he'd score,” said Wright. “I left him as long as I could (to get a hat-trick), but I want to manage players and see it through with others.
