DWP letters to be sent to millions who will receive up to £600 to help pay heating bills

Millions of people will begin receiving letters this month letting them know if they could get up to £600 in heating support.

While most eligible people will be sent the letter automatically, you can still make a claim if you feel you should be receiving the payment this winter.

Claims for the payment can be made via post to the Winter Fuel Payment Centre. While postal claims have been doable since September 18, you soon be able to make a claim by phone from Wednesday, October 4.

The amount you receive from the Winter Fuel Payment will depend on your circumstances between September
