Dundee United face transfer exodus as Aziz Behich and Arnaud Djoum consider next step and 2 more remain undecided

Aziz Behich and Arnaud Djoum could quit Dundee United this summer.

The Australian and Cameroon internationalists aren’t keen on dropping down to the Scottish Championship. The pair are both under contract for another season but want to play at the highest level they can for their international careers. Behich is currently on holiday after being away on international duty with Australia, while midfielder Djoum is currently training on his own in Belgium.

It also remains to be seen if the likes of Steven Fletcher and Charlie Mulgrew will stick around for a season in the Championship. United’s first-team is already back for pre-season. Manager Jim Goodwin has previously admitted that some of his international players may want to move on after their relegation. Goodwin has already started to rebuild his squad to try and get United back to the top-flight at the first-time of asking.

He has already signed Ross Docherty from Partick Thistle and Liam Grimshaw from Morton. He also added former Dundee and Thistle defender Kevin Holt on a one year contract.

Goodwin said: “Kevin is a fantastic and experienced defender who knows exactly what it takes to compete and be successful in the Championship. He can play in a number of positions across the backline which is a huge bonus and, crucially, is the right type of character whom we need in the group.”
