Dumfries and Galloway curlers set to begin bid for Winter Youth Olympic glory

Three of the region’s curlers begin their bid for Winter Youth Olympic glory on Saturday.

Dalbeattie’s Logan Carson and Dumfries pair Tia Laurie and Archie Hyslop, as well as Holly Burke, are all representing Team GB in the mixed curling competition in Gangwon in the Republic of Korea.

They begin their campaign on Saturday and will be hoping to be involved in the medal matches on Thursday.

Both Logan and Archie were part of the rink – skipped by Logan’s brother Orrin – which retained the Scottish Junior Curling Championship last year.

And Tia was part of the rink which won the Junior Women’s Under-17 Championship in the Asham Under-17 Slam.
