Duk on Burnley transfer radar as Aberdeen hotshot is 'monitored' by Vincent Kompany's champions elect

Aberdeen striker Luis 'Duk' Lopes is being monitored by English Championship side Burnley, according to reports.

The Cape Verde international has been the stand out player for Barry Robson's side so far this season bagging 18 goals. The 23-year-old, who arrived from Benfica B in the summer, has attracted a number of clubs down south with Blackburn Rovers and Hull City also keen on the striker, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Duk was named player of the month in the Scottish Premiership in March after scoring three goals. He started the month scoring a brilliant individual goal in Jim Goodwin's first game as Dundee United manager, while he capped off the month netting two against Hearts in a 3-0 win at Pittodrie. Aberdeen will want to keep hold of Duk, however he has previously revealed he wants to use the north-east as a "springboard" to eventually play in England one day

He told Maisfutebol: "I knew that the Scottish league has often been a springboard for players to reach the English Championship, and even the Premier League. That is one of the reasons I chose to come here. I came here with the aim of getting to England."
