Drew McIntyre is one of the biggest WWE Superstars today, and undoubtedly the most successful British wrestler of all time.

The former WWE Champion’s wrestling career is one of redemption given he was released by Vince McMahon in 2014 after five years on the main roster.

McIntyre reinvited himself on the independent scene as well as with TNA before returning to WWE as a bigger and better wrestler with a hard-hitting, no-nonsense style.

Since then, he has won two WWE titles, the Raw Tag Titles and the 2020 Royal Rumble. He has headlined WrestleMania as well as the recent Clash at the Castle show in a losing effort to Roman Reigns.

Despite all of this, there might be some things about “The Scottish Warrior” that fans still are not aware of, so GiveMeSport takes you through ten things you didn’t know about Drew McIntyre…

Growing up in Glasgow, real-life Drew Galloway was a huge football fan, playing as a defender for youth club Prestwick Boys.

His dream was to play for Glasgow Rangers until he was 14 when he focused on his other dream of becoming a pro wrestler. He remains a huge fan of Rangers to this day.

Drew began training to become a pro wrestler at 15 with his parents paying for his fees as long as he put equal focus on his academic studies.

He went on to earn a master’s degree in criminology from Glasgow Caledonian University.

Drew and Sheamus can be described as wrestling soulmates such is their connection in the ring, as well as being close friends outside of it. Then known as Drew Galloway and Sheamus O’Shaunessy, the two fought on numerous occasions in Irish Whip Wrestling.
