Dream Man United summer transfer window - £85m bombshell, Marcus Rashford exit and big gamble

Manchester United's summer transfer window has been hard work so far with Matheus Cunha the only major signing to be completed to date.

By this point in the summer, Ruben Amorim would have hoped for more deals to have been ticked off ahead of the first match of pre-season a week on Saturday. Friday, August 11, marks 37 days until that opening fixture against Arsenal at Old Trafford and United will hope by then that their squad looks a lot different.

The big deadline that United will be working towards is Monday, September 1 when the summer transfer window shuts for good. With this in mind, MEN Sport has taken a look at what a dream transfer window would look like between now and Tuesday, September 2, when we are reviewing United's business.

First on the agenda for United will be to complete the deal for Bryan Mbeumo. The Brentford forward may have played out on the wing predominantly last season but he has the capabilities to play more centrally and we are perhaps all tired of the will he, won't he debate.

Ultimately, the 25-year-old would be a good addition for United in the face of no European football this season to tempt other targets to switch to Old Trafford. The Reds would have a strong array of options at No.10 if he were to join and the move would put to bed talk that United wasted a large chunk of the window chasing a player they could not attain.

On Friday, talk intensified surrounding the future of Marcus Rashford. MEN Sport revealed the winger arrived at Carrington this week eight minutes after Amorim left the training facility.
