Dover Athletic appeal red card shown to Myles Judd at Stockport County in National League

Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler has confirmed they've appealed Myles Judd's red card at Stockport on Saturday.

Whites lodged their appeal with the FA this morning after reviewing video footage of the incident.

Judd was given a straight red card by referee Paul Marsden for his challenge on Macauley Southam-Hales eight minutes before half-time.

The 22-year-old Dover defender was making only his fifth appearance for Dover but Hessenthaler believes he should have a good chance of winning the appeal.

"We have appealed it," confirmed Hessenthaler. "It looked worse on the day but we've looked at the video and slowed it down.

"It's a 50-50 ball, even their commentary said it was a bad square pass. It was wet and he had every right to go for it.

"We've slowed it down and it shows he went in with one foot and hasn't left the ground, it's a yellow card all day long."

Judd had impressed on the left of Dover's defence at Stockport, limiting Southam-Hales impact on the game.

The former Leyton Orient and Barnet defender has settled in nicely at Crabble.

Hessenthaler added: "He has been excellent. We lost Sam Wood to Cray Wanderers and we knew that Southam-Hales is a good player but Juddy was playing him well.

"I was with him at Orient when he was in the youth team. We had him in pre-season but at that stage we'd done the budget."
