Dover Athletic's National League match at FC Halifax Town postponed due to waterlogged pitch

Dover's National League trip to FC Halifax Town this weekend has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The news was announced shortly after midday after a pitch inspection.

A statement from Whites on Twitter said: "Our @TheVanaramaNL game away at @FCHTOnline on Saturday has been called off following a pitch inspection at The Shay today."

The fixture has been re-arranged for Saturday, March 12.

It is the second time this week Dover have seen a scheduled game postponed, with their home match against Notts County on Tuesday called off.

That decision infuriated Dover chairman Jim Parmenter who said the club will be making a formal complaint over the decision to call off the match, despite Whites saying the pitch had passed an earlier pitch inspection.

Andy Hessenthaler's bottom side are next due to be in action at Aldershot on Tuesday night.
