Striker George Nikaj claimed an overdue goal in Dover’s National League South success over Slough on Saturday.
Nikaj put them in front after a goalless opening 45 minutes with his first competitive goal for the club since September.
Substitute Kenny Coker also netted as it ended 2-0 to Whites - now unbeaten in five matches - at Crabble.
Former Welling and Folkestone forward Luke Holness had created the first chance for the away side on 10 minutes at Crabble.
He cut in from the left flank and his strike was dragged inches wide of Mitch Walker’s left-hand post on an extremely tough pitch on a cold day.
Nikaj then threatened for the first time but skipper Kiki Oshilaja was too strong for Dover midfielder George Wilkinson as he muscled him off the ball.
The home team went close when Rolando Onu burst forward on the counter-attack in the 28th minute, only to see his left-wing delivery fall just behind Nikaj.
Moments later, a near-post shot by Slough’s ex-Maidstone striker Ruben Shakpoke stung the palms of 34-year-old captain Walker.
Forward Francis Mampolo netted shortly after the half-hour mark for Dover but saw his effort ruled out for offside before visiting goalkeeper Adam Desbois thwarted Albanian Nikaj.
Onu’s left-wing cross was diverted narrowly wide by Peter Ojemen and, from the resultant corner, midfielder Siju Odelusi missed the target from a good position.
Away player Tyrese Dyce sliced wide just before half-time after a long throw had fallen nicely to him.
Two minutes into the second half, Slough striker Shakpoke sent an attempted scorpion kick from a Jared Myers right-wing cross wide after a free-kick had been taken quickly.
