Dimitar Berbatov sends message to Casemiro amid Manchester United transfer 'regret' rumours
Former striker Dimitar Berbatov is backing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro to rediscover his form following an underwhelming start to the season.
The Brazilian, who joined United from Real Madrid in August last year, was exceptional in his debut season at Old Trafford, playing a key role in the club's resurrection under Erik ten Hag. He was often the glue in United's midfield and provided the defensive presence in the engine room that had been missing for several years.
The 31-year-old, however, has not been at the races so far this term, despite the fact he is the club's leading goalscorer with four goals to his name so far. He has not controlled games in the same way he did last season, prompting concerns about whether he has still got the ability to do the job United need him to do.

He has missed both of United's last two games, missing the win over Sheffield United through injury and Tuesday night's Champions League triumph over FC Copenhagen through suspension. He is set to be available for selection for Sunday's derby against Manchester City.
As a result of Casemiro's underwhelming start to the season, a report in Spain recently claimed he has started to 'regret' joining United amid suggestions the club is already hunting for his long-term successor. However, Berbatov hopes there is no substance to the reports, backing the Brazil international to get back to his best.
