'Problems' - Luton star Teden Mengi sends message before first Manchester United return

Teden Mengi wants Luton Town to cause further "problems" for Manchester United when the Academy graduate makes his first return to his boyhood club.

The 21-year-old Manchester-born centre-back progressed through the famed system at Old Trafford before he left to sign for the Premier League newcomers this summer. United are ready to welcome the Hatters - and Mengi - to their iconic stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

Mengi has made six top-flight appearances for Luton so far this season. However, it has been a tough introduction for the Kenilworth Road side.

Luton are fourth-bottom after 11 games with one win to their name. Mengi, though, wants his teammates to draw inspiration from their draw with Liverpool as they prepare to take on another Premier League big gun, one that he knows as well as anyone after 14 years at Old Trafford as a young player.

Speaking pre-match, Mengi told The Daily Mail: "It was a tough game against a very good Liverpool side, but I felt we more and held our own against them. We really should have won after being so close to victory, but in honesty we would have taken a draw before the start of the game.

"It's good for our confidence that we can cope at this level and we want to kick on. That performance will give us confidence going to Manchester United that we can get a result there and that we will have no fear."
