Dessers resolve tested, Matondo price tag and Cantwell interest intensifies - Rangers transfer clearout state of play

Cagliari are reportedly preparing to test Rangers' resolve to keep Cyriel Dessers this summer.

The Nigeria international has come in for heavy flak throughout his Ibrox tenure - despite netting 22 goals in all competitions last season and finding the net twice so far this campaign. As it stands for the Light Blues, the 29-year-old is Philippe Clement's go-to striking option with Danilo and Hamza Igamane ramping up their fitness behind the scenes at Auchenhowie - but that has reportedly not deterred the Serie A side as they look to replace outgoing striker Gianluca Lapadula.

However, it is noted that it is still "unclear whether Rangers would be willing to part" with the Nigeria international at this stage of the window. But one man who would get the green light for an exit is wantaway Todd Cantwell.

Boss Clement made it clear before the Premier Sports Cup clash with St Johnstone that players must be moved on this summer - and after submitting a transfer request and being relegated to train with the B team Cantwell looks to be heading to the exit door. Trabzonspor have been touted as a potential destination - but talks over a switch appeared to have gone cold.

But Tukrish outlet Yomrason Haber claim that the club "remain interested" in the Englishman. It is claimed the club were "unable to sign the playmaker they were looking for" and have now "turned their eyes" back to the 26-year-old. Talks with Rangers are said to be ongoing but the Turkish giants are now "intensifying their efforts" to snap up Cantwell.
