Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will be spending the international break plotting his next move after a disastrous defeat to Liverpool at the weekend.

We may only be three games into the new season but already there is some panic among supporters after an underwhelming display against their fierce rivals. This has led to some speculation that United may look to bring in a free transfer to help bolster their midfield which was particularly poor against Liverpool.

Former Juventus and France international Adrien Rabiot has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford. The central midfielder has been on Ten Hag's radar previously but a deal has always failed to materialise.

If United are not able to add to their midfield options they will be looking towards Manuel Ugarte to bolster the midfield. Ten Hag has already admitted the 23-year-old has not had the pre-season anyone would have wanted but after Casemiro's difficult time against Liverpool, the Uruguayan may be needed sooner rather than later.
