Derek McInnes knows Rangers lucky dip days are over as he reveals what he likes about Philippe Clement

Derek McInnes reckons Rangers were unsure of themselves when Kilmarnock caught them cold on the opening day under Michael Beale, but Philippe Clement's version know exactly what they can bring to the table.

The Premiership leaders return to Rugby Park under the Belgian two points clear at the top of the table. When they opened their season in August, Beale's title charge failed to get out of the traps as Gers succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in Ayrshire. McInnes sensed uncertainty about the visitors that day, but is under no illusions that Clement's team will turn up in a similar state. They thumped Hearts 5-0 at the weekend in their most convincing display of the campaign and the Killie boss sees a clear style and purpose in his former club's approach.

"Maybe the performance that day was unsure, a bit of uncertainty about the Rangers performance," said McInnes. "There's a certainty about them now. You know what you're going to get.

"I actually like the way he plays. There's a directness about them, there's a simplicity about them and there's an organisation about them. You can see the detail in their work in and out of possession.

"I don't think they think they're anything they're not. They play forward, they ask the question, put balls in the box and take shots on from distance.

"They work you and you need to be able to stand up to that. We're expecting a tough game but equally, I expect Rangers to get a tough game from us if we can be anything like ourselves."
