Derby U23s vs Man City U23s LIVE goal and score updates from Premier League 2 clash

Manchester City's under-23s are back in action as they take on Derby this evening in the Premier League 2.

A good run of recent form has seen City jump to the top of the table, and victory over bottom side Derby could extend that lead to four points to second-placed West Ham, who would have a game in hand.

Brian Barry-Murphy could call upon top scorer James McAtee and returning striker Liam Delap, who both came off the bench for the first team in the FA Cup at the weekend. This game had originally been earmarked for Delap to make a long-awaited return from injury, until he was a surprise includion at the Etihad on Saturday - almost scoring before seeing his header ruled out for offside.

McAtee has just signed a new long-term contract to end speculation over his future, while full-back Josh Wilson-Esbrand and forward Oscar Bobb also committed their futures to the club last week. City will have to make one change from the side that won at Chelsea last time out, with defender Finley Burns now on loan at Swansea. Cole Palmer is injured so is unlikely to feature

City have gone strong, with Liam Delap and James McAtee both starting after featuring in the FA Cup on Saturday. It's Delap's first start of the season at any level after those injury problems.

Kayky and Oscar Bobb are also in the side, with the latter recently signing a new contract. However, there's a change up at the back with Finley Burns out on loan, and Josh Wilson-Esbrand not in the squad, so CJ Egan-Riley moves into the centre while Kwaku Oduroh and Juan Larios are the full-backs.
