Man City U23s vs West Ham LIVE goal and score updates as McAtee scores panenka and Delap starts

Manchester City can take a huge step towards retaining their Premier League 2 title on Sunday as they host second-placed West Ham at the Academy Stadium.

City lead the Premier League 2 by four points, but West Ham have a game in hand in second place. Were the Hammers to beat City on Sunday, and then win that extra game, they would leapfrog the Blues, but City could go seven points clear with victory.

Brian Barry-Murphy's side are on a run of five straight wins, and included regulars James McAtee, Romeo Lavia and Liam Delap, who were all on the bench for the first team in Saturday's Premier League defeat to Tottenham. Others, like Kayky and Luke Mbete, also start having featured in recent first team squads, before dropping down to the under-23s for their league games.

City XI to face West Ham: Slicker, Charles, Egan-Riley, Mbete, Larios, Lavia, Kayky, Gyabi, Delap, McAtee, Bobb.

West Ham bring on Levi Laing for Thierry Nevers to restore their back line to four.

Jamal Baptiste is sent off for a second yellow card. Big blow for West Ham. He flew in strongly on Darko Gyabi and gave the referee no option.

West Ham break again, and Daniel Chesters has a go this time, forcing Slicker into another good save.

That all came from City taking a free kick too quickly when there were West Ham
