Dartford sign former Tonbridge Angels goalkeeper Jonny Henly following Folkestone Invicta exit
Dartford have signed goalkeeper Jonny Henly following his departure from Isthmian Premier rivals Folkestone.
Henly played 45 times for Invicta last season, after arriving from Tonbridge, and was under contract for 2025/26.
But he left Cheriton Road by mutual agreement amid interest from other clubs and with manager Jay Saunders deciding to “go in a different direction”.
At the time, there had been approaches from two clubs and it’s Dartford who have won the race for Henly’s services.
Manager Ady Pennock told the Darts website: “Jonny played against us twice last season and was at Tonbridge before that, so I’ve known of him for a long time.
“But I met with him and liked him as a person, too.
“He’s an experienced keeper, a strong shot-stopper and manages the game very well. I’m really happy to get him on board.”
Henly, 31, started his career at Reading, followed by spells at Aldershot and Welling before making more than 300 appearances in seven years at Tonbridge.
During his time at Longmead, he won promotion from the Isthmian Premier to National League South via a super play-off victory over Met Police.
The big keeper has also played for Scotland under-19s and under-21s.
