Ebbsfleet United sign former Norwich City and Exeter City attacker Josh Coley after his release from Sutton United

Ebbsfleet manager Josh Wright has made another impressive addition to his squad.

The Fleet returned to pre-season training at the weekend with new recruit Josh Coley among their numbers.

Coley has signed after leaving Sutton. A winger by trade, the 26-year-old was also utilised in a wing-back role by Sutton last term.

Coley started his career in non-league before moving to Norwich in 2018. He also played for Dunfermline in Scotland and Maidenhead in the National League.

A move to Exeter followed before a loan at Harrogate with Sutton paying an undisclosed fee for his services in 2023.

Coley said: “I’ve always been one of those players happy to play wherever suits but I just want to be out on the pitch working hard and enjoying myself.

“I’ve been keeping a close eye on who’s been coming in here and I’m just really looking forward to playing with these players.”

The Fleet have now recruited 12 new players over the close season with former Gills captain Max Ehmer and Coley adding more quality to a squad that will be expected to challenge for an immediate return to the National League.
