Danny McGuire puts major emphasis on his side's defence ahead of Warrington clash

Hull KR coach Danny McGuire has challenged his players to raise their levels once again for Friday's clash with Warrington Wolves.

McGuire picked up his first victory as coach since taking over from Tony Smith earlier in the month against Wakefield Trinity last time out, which has only increased his appetite for success heading into this week's contest with the Wolves.

Albeit last week's win over Trinity gave KR some much-needed confidence, the Rovers boss understands his players need to up the ante if they want to come away from the Halliwell Jones with another victory, especially in one key area that has caused Hull KR coaches over the years sleepless nights whilst at the helm.

"We need to tidy up a few areas," said McGuire. "But we are ready for this test against Warrington at the weekend. It's such an important game, but they all are. We need to turn up and give a good account of ourselves. Warrington are a great team who have some of the best players in the competition. If we produce 5 of 6's out of 10, we won't win. We have to be committed and enjoy these games.

"I want us to be tough and physical on Friday. We need to match their middles, and defensively we need to front up. In attack, we can test any team when we are on it, and it's just our defence that needs to be more innovative. I've challenged the lads to kick on now, so Friday can't come quick enough."
