Three Toulouse Olympique stars Hull KR must contain including familiar foe

Toulouse Olympique are a team that has grown in confidence throughout their inaugural season in Super League.

Sylvain Houles has put together a side with plenty of potential, but they ultimately need to stay in the top flight of rugby league to continue their development in the game. The newcomers have shocked plenty of teams so far in 2022, having recorded victories over champions St Helens, Hull KR, Leeds Rhinos and getting two wins over Wakefield Trinity.

Olympique also have some real showstoppers within their ranks who can turn a game on its head. So, with all that said we take a look at the three dangermen Hull KR must try to contain on Thursday evening.

The jewel in the crown of this Toulouse Olympique side is Olly Ashall-Bott, who has been fantastic for Sylvain Houles' side in 2022. His raw speed and positioning skills in attack are just two reasons why his stock has risen in recent months, with Rovers feeling the full force of his skills back in July when KR were put to the sword in France as he ran riot against the lacklustre Robins. Rovers must contain the former Widnes ace if they want to win, it's as simple as that. One fundamental weakness of this Rovers side is that apart from Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e, Ethan Ryan and the injured Mikey Lewis, they lack pace in crucial areas, something Toulouse have in abundance with Ashall-Bott, Matty Russell and Paul Marcon. The fullback toyed with KR when the two sides last met, and Danny McGuire will know if his team want to overcome Olympique, they must find a way to keep him out of the game.
