'Dangerous is good' - Jeremy Doku ready or 'next level after Man City start

Jeremy Doku is ready to go to 'the next level' under Pep Guardiola as the Manchester City winger aims to continue his fast start.

Settling into City under Guardiola can notoriously take time for new signings to settle, yet Doku has made an instant impact since a £55m summer switch from Rennes. The speedy forward has wowed City staff and fans with his exciting displays and has even ousted Jack Grealish from the starting lineup for some big games.

Doku is happy to have exceeded expectations, but knows that he can still improve his game. The 21-year-old is enjoying working with Guardiola and expects that partnership to continue to pay off as they continue to gel.

"When I first came here, people didn’t expect me to play, maybe not from the start. But I am doing it and that is good because it is a top team and playing minutes in this team is a good thing," he said.

"I can always be better, be more efficient and help the team more in the final third. Those are some parts of the game that I can still work on, so it’s not perfect. But I think I am having a good start and I just need to keep going.

"[Guardiola] can take me to the next level. That’s also why I took this chance to come here because I know the manager and I know how he can help me to reach the top.

"He helps me a lot, especially on the details and he lets me be myself because you can see on the pitch that I am just being myself. He helps me with the details to be a better player. He helps me a lot.”

Doku has bagged three goals in all competitions since arriving at City and also has more assists than any other player
