Dalbeattie Star boss fumes at goalie's dismissal against Mid Annandale

Dalbeattie Star boss Eddie Warwick was left fuming after his goalie was sent off against Mid Annandale on Saturday.

Keeper Jake Gemmell (right)was dismissed after just a quarter of an hour following a collision with Jordan Harley, with coach Mikey Devlin – who is not a keeper – taking over.

Star were 2-0 up at the time but fell 3-2 behind in the second half before rallying to win a crazy game 4-3.

“We’re so thankful to the coach for going in – he got a round of applause afterwards and rightly so. It takes a lot of guts to grab the gloves and do it.”
