Cyclist injured after being hit by car before police and paramedics swarm area
A cyclist was left injured after being hit by car on a country road near Bolton on Sunday afternoon (August 11). Police and paramedics attended the collision on Rivington Road, close to Belmont Road, at around 3.47pm.
It was reported that the biker, aged in his 20s, had been left with a broken wrist and burn injuries after colliding with the car, a black Volkswagen Lupo. He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital.
Pictures from the scene showed a number of police vehicles and an ambulance at the scene. The road was blocked while emergency crews responded.

Rivington Road was blocked off from the Black Dog pub in Belmont as officers could be seen conducting enquiries into the collision.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 15:47 today to a report of a road traffic collision on Belmont Road, Horwich.
"Its reported that a black VW Lupo has collided with a cyclist, who suffered a broken wrist and burn injuries as a result.
"The cyclist, a man in his 20’s, was taken to Salford Royal for treatment."
