Customs beat BluecheLomado 6-1, qualifies for Maritime Cup quarterfinals

High-riding Nigeria Customs Service football team has qualified for the quarterfinals of the ongoing Maritime Cup, with BluecheLomado its latest victim.

In an entertaining encounter on Tuesday night, the Nigerian Customs team defeated BluecheLomado 6-1 to confirm its passage to the last eight of the competition.

Speaking on the team’s exciting performance at the Maritime Cup, PRO, Nigerian Customs Command and Staff College, Akinwale Fatoki, said the game ignited with a spectacular goal in the 15th minute by Superintendent of Customs Peter Tangulu, who later got his brace.

“The NCS team continued to exhibit prowess with Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Bamidele Omodara, netting a goal in the 48th minute. The momentum didn’t stop there, as Assistant Superintendent of Customs II, Munkiala Abubakar and SC Buhari Sani, contributed goals in the 56th and 68th minutes, respectively.”

Fatoki said the victory not only highlighted the NCS’s football expertise, but also secured their place in the Maritime Cup quarterfinals, following their previous 1-0 defeat of the Nigerian Navy last week.

The Customs team will meet Trucks Transit Park (TTP) today at the NPA sports ground in continuation of the preliminary round of the competition.

Fatoki said that the quarter finals will hold on November 6 , with the NCS team billed to meet either the winner or runner-up of Group C.
