World Cup qualifier: We’ll bounce back, Super Eagles’ Moses Simon assures Nigerians
Super Eagles
Moses Simon has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles will bounce back in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles recorded two draws in their opening two Group C games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Last Thursday, Jose Peseiro’s men had to come from behind to force a 1-1 draw with Lesotho in Uyo.
On Sunday, they recorded another 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe in Rwanda.
The results from the two games has led to calls for the sack of Peseiro.
Also, the players have come under serious criticism from Nigerians.
Reacting to the games, Simon expressed believe that the Eagles are capable of turning things around.
“Not the result we wanted but we we will surely bounce back.
“Big apologies to our fans, you deserve better than the performance against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
“We have overcome so many challenges in the past. And now is the time to reflect and come back stronger.”
The Eagles will be back in action in the qualifiers in June 2024 when they will host South Africa.
