Cristiano Ronaldo 'makes major decision' as ex-Manchester United star scores twice in Al-Nassr win

Cristiano Ronaldo continued his fine goalscoring form for Al-Nassr with a brace to inspire a 4-3 victory over Al-Ahli. But the former Manchester United man has reportedly made a major call on his future with reports emerging on Friday night that the 38-year-old will retire in Saudi Arabia and not seek a further move.

Ronaldo was in action on Friday with Al-Nassr taking on a side featuring a frontline of Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin and Roberto Firmino

The Portugal star scored early in each half to help his team collect all three points and move up to fifth in the early season table, three points off leaders Al-Ittihad. But much of the talk around the game was of Ronaldo's apparent decision to reveal to club chiefs that he would retire when his playing spell with Al-Nassr comes to an end. He is under contract until the end of next season.

A report from the Spectator Index has claimed Ronaldo has promised to retire at the club and has no desire to return to Europe. The 38-year-old has been in superb individual form this term while his club have recovered from a slow start to the league season to climb the table in recent weeks.

Writing on social media platform X after Friday's win, Ronaldo said: "Very happy to score 2 more goals and specially to have helped the team in this important win! Our fans have been amazing in our home with their fantastic support!"

On his future, it is not the first time Ronaldo has said he will retire at a club. In 2017, shortly after helping Real Madrid win their 12th Champions League trophy, the forward signalled his intention to stay at the Bernabeu until he was 40.
