Coronation Street's Sally Ann Matthews says 'it's game over' after message before 'cancel' fears

Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews joked it was 'game over' after he innocent plans to host a question and answer session with her fans hit a technical halt. The actress was keen to chat with fans of her and the ITV soap over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

She took to her Instagram Story with a 'type something' box as she said: "You know when you think no, not now, but do it anyway?" before she encouraged: "Go". But as the questions started to come in, Sally Ann hit a stumbling block.

The soap star, known for playing Jenny Connor in Corrie, shared a string of images of herself and her beloved dog, the adorable border terrier Veto, as she struggled to figure out how to respond to the questions on her profile.

So it appears Sally Ann decided another option as better and started streaming live from her Instagram page - which instilled horror in her son. Away from the cobbles, the 53-year-old is happily married to senior barrister Nicholas Rhodes, having tied the knot in 1999.

Sally Ann and Nick live together in London and have two children, and while she often shares photos of her husband on her Instagram, her boys, Louis and James, are more rarely seen.

In summer 2022, Sally Ann beamed with pride alongside Nick as she joined James at what appeared to be his graduation, due to the fact he was sporting a cap and gown. "Our boy," she simply captioned the post, which was soon flooded with congratulatory messages from her fans and followers.
