Coronation Street Mason Radcliffe attacker's identity exposed amid cobbles return

The identity of Coronation Street character Mason Radcliffe's attacker has been revealed as he makes a return to the cobbles. Viewers recall when the soap bully, played by Luca Toolan, first made an appearance last year causing unrest with his antics and intimidating actions towards Maria Connor's (Samia Longchambon) young son, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).

Famous for bullying his peers, Mason had managed to cultivate quite a threatening reputation both in and out of school. The drama escalated on the ITV programme when Mason brandished a knife at Liam.

Things got so dire for Liam that he considered ending his own life. However, in April, Mason was relocated to a Young Offenders centre due to his threatening behaviour towards Liam.

Throughout the court trial, Dylan bravely provided testimony against Mason. Yet just this week, the notorious bully was back on screen, having been released from the Young Offenders centre.

In Monday's episode (July 20), character Stu (Bill Fellows) is taken aback to discover an injured and bloodied Mason near the precinct. Being unaware of Mason's past, Stu questions the young man about the cause of his injuries, reports the Express.

Mason confides that it was his brother who attacked him. "One or the other, I've got two," he disclosed. Feeling empathy for him, Stu invites Mason to Speed Daal for a meal and to clean up.

Fans were quick to voice their thoughts on Mason's return. A user on X, previously known as Twitter, commented: "Mason's had a right good beating. I've got zero sympathy for that nasty piece of work!"

Another individual wrote: "Not sure why they decided to run Mason's story again. He'll never change. He'll be a repeat offender. Character should never have come back."
