Coronation Street 'keeping it real' say fans after warning of 'upsetting scenes'

Emotional Coronation Street fans have praised the soap for the way it handled the final scene in Wednesday night's episode. The last part of the episode showed character Paul open up about his fears for the future after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

Following an awkward confrontation between the two over Paul's whereabouts the previous night, the episode came to an emotional end after Paul admitted he was fearing for what lies ahead.

Soon after the final scene of tonight's episode had aired, fans took to Twitter to praise the acting and coverage of the sensitive issue. Many also commented on feeling emotional after watching the honest exchange between the two characters.

@Momrocks50 tweeted: "Aww Paul and Billy both scared of what is to come. Well done Corrie for keeping it real #corrie."

And commented: @RyanTheSoapking: "#Corrie.@PeterAsh_85 & @Dan_Brocklebank have been brilliant tonight and throughout Paul's MND Storyline so far. This is such an important and emotional story to tell but the show is doing it justice."

While @sammysandwch wrote: "The hardest part of MND is those conversations you just don’t want to have. Learning that you have to be the strength for your loved one. Love keeps you going, through all the different stages, to the end Love still lives each day of your life."

And @lisaw12345 said: "Oh god, paul and billy have made me blub again #corrie @PeterAsh_85 @Dan_Brocklebank @itvcorrie what a lovely last scene #MND #Drama #love #support well done fabulous acting xx"
