Coronation Street fans think they've spotted double blunder in Stephen injury collapse as Tim arrested

Coronation Street fans have been quick to point out a blunder they believe they have spotted after Stephen Reid was found collapsed in the street after a confrontation with Tim Metcalfe. Viewers of the ITV soap have been wanting the bogus businessman to be caught for ages.

That's because they know he is a serial killer after bumping off Leo Thompkins, his dad Teddy and business associate Rufus Donahughe after they got close to figuring out the truth about his lies and never-ending money woes. But they have recently watched him plan to bump off his wife-to-be Elaine Metcalfe in a life insurance scam.

But just before he could get rid of Elaine once and for all during a trip to the Peak District after taking out a joint life insurance policy without her knowing, and convincing his mum that Elaine is depressed, the truth of what he could potentially be planning was uncovered.

After paying a visit to see Gail, a family photo revealed to Elaine that the woman she saw Stephen on a Zoom call with was his ex-wife, Gabrielle. Covering her alarm, Elaine headed out and found her son, Tim, telling him that Stephen had been lying to her.

Elaine started to piece together all Stephen’s suspicious activity, telling Tim about a metal box in which Stephen kept squirrelling things away. Tim managed to prise open the box and the pair were shocked to discover the forged life insurance documents. Clearly panicked, Tim got Elaine out of the way and waited at the flat to confront Stephen as he packed his mother's belongings.

As an angry Tim told him the game was up and they were going to report him to the police, a struggle ensued and Stephen was hurt
