Coronation Street icon's return confirmed as co-star excitedly shares 'first'

Coronation Street favourite Jennie McAlpine appears to be making her way back to the cobbles. Her young co-star Bille Naylor appeared to confirm the news as she returned to the set to film her latest scenes following the Christmas and New Year break.

Actress Jennie left the cobbles earlier in 2023 as Fiz Dobbs as part of a temporary exit to welcome her third child. It was in August that Jennie confirmed her and her husband Chris Farr's daughter's arrival, when she was five months old.

As she introduced her little girl, Dorris, with the help of OK! Magazine for the first time, Jennie said: "I’m so aware of how precious this time is and just how quickly it goes. It’s chaos, though. I mean, it was chaos before but now it’s another level!"

Doris was born just before midnight on April 4 at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Hospital, weighing 7lbs 11oz. She is a little sister for Jennie and Chris' two older children, Albert, eight, and four-year-old Hilda. And now, nine months after her third child's arrival, Jennie is back on Corrie's Salford-based set.

While she has made a couple of virtual appearances in that time, Fiz is very much back in Weatherfield as Ruby Dobbs actress Billie proved when sharing a snap of them at work alongside Alan Halsall, who plays dad Tyrone Dobbs, and Dame Marueen Lipman, who stars in the soap as grandmother Evelyn Plummer.
