Coronation Street's Kate Ford says it's 'not easy' as she shares difficult part of affair storyline after '10 year break'

Coronation Street star Kate Ford has opened up about her latest stoyrling that will see her character Tracy Barlow embark on a steamy affair. It's been revealed that Tracy's husband Steve McDonald is set for heartbreak when his wife cheats on him - with his footballing hero.

As viewers of the ITV soap have already seen, a lazy Steve failed to get the decorating done Tracy requested at No.1 so she called in former footballer Tommy Orpington who was more than happy to take up the job.

Viewers will remember Tommy made a brief appearance in Weatherfield on Christmas day, years after his latest stint in the ITV soap, and popped into Preston's Petals where Tracy was sipping on some wine after tensions rise at the Barlows on Christmas Day.

After seeing the flower shop open, Tommy seized the opportunity to get a last-minute gift for his mum. He ended up passing Tracy one of his cards for his new business as a painter and decorator, with Tracy unaware of how his has previously been known for years as a Weatherfield County great.

But with Tommy now spending more time with Tracy and with Steve away in France visiting his daughter, Emma Brooker, it quickly becomes clear his mind isn’t just on the work as the sexual chemistry between Tracy and Tommy leaves her hot under the collar.

As Tommy admits he fancies Tracy and leans in for a kiss, it looks like there’s no red card for Tommy as Tracy takes their attraction to extra time. As the pair embark on a steamy affair, has Steve scored a huge own goal by letting his icon home in on his wife?
