Coronation Street fans say they 'knew' as they predict newlyweds Billy and Paul's downfall

Coronation Street fans have been left fearing the worst for Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman after they finally were able to tie the knot in church. In Monday night's episode, Billy married Paul - not once but twice.

And there was a surprise for Billy after Paul set about a plan to make sure they both got their own church wedding experience. After the couple got married in a civil ceremony at the Bistro, Paul then told Billy he had found a vicar willing to marry them in a secret wedding at a church, while Bernie, Gemma, Todd Grimshaw and Dee-Dee Bailey watched and Summer Spellman proudly snapped away with her Polaroid camera.

It was the first gay wedding that has ever gone ahead in the soap. But at the very end of Monday's episode, as the couple and their guests celebrate to the first dance, the end scene cuts to an empty church, showing viewers the photograph taken of the couple by Summer, which has been dropped on the church floor.
