Coronation Street fans distracted by real-life link as Tim Metcalfe and Peter Barlow enjoy hot tub amid concern

Coronation Street fans were left distracted during the latest trip to Weatherfield as Tim Metcalfe and Peter Barlow had a heart to heard in a hot tub. As viewers of the ITV soap know, by next week, Peter will have said his goodbyes and left the cobbles.

The much-loved cabbie, played by Chris Gascoyne, was seen receiving a letter from the hospital which he surreptitiously shoved into his pocket without giving it a look. Later, he was heard confiding in Tim that he can’t stop obsessing over Stephen Reid's death after he ploughed into the serial killer in his car after he tormented niece Sarah Barlow and partner Jenny Connor in his final moments.

The admission left Tim thinking Peter needed a distraction and soon, the pair had stripped off and were in the hot tub at No.4. As they sat among the relaxing bubbles, Peter opened up to Tim about the possibility of leaving Weatherfield for good, as he asked: "Were you never tempted to just up sticks and leave everything behind?"

Peter also opened up to Tim about the possibility of leaving Weatherfield for good, as he asked Tim: “Were you never tempted to just up sticks and leave everything behind?”

Tim advised Peter to forget thoughts of Stephen and focus on the good things in his life but Peter solemnly admitted it was easier said than done. "I could count my blessings. Carla, my family and everything that’s good in my life and it would be OK for a bit," he said.
