Community comes together to mourn brother and sister killed in M4 crash
Hundreds of people are expected to gather today to pay tribute at the funeral of a brother and sister who died after a crash on the M4. Three-year-old Jayden-Lee Lucas, also known as Jayden-Lee Wheaton, died in hospital five days after his four-year-old sister Gracie-Ann.
The siblings were en route home from a birthday party and were travelling in a car on the motorway's westbound carriageway when it was involved in a crash with a van on February 5, 2022. The children's mother Rhiannon Lucas also received treatment in hospital.
The driver of the van has pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving at Cardiff Crown Court. He also pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The funeral procession will leave the family home in Tredegar on Monday, March 21 before passing the children's school, Deighton Primary School, and travelling to a service at St George's Church. The procession, which will be led by horse and carriage, will then travel to Sirhowy Valley Crematorium in Blackwood.
