A professional clown and comedian who was born in Sale has described feeling relieved after avoiding a role in the tragically awful Willy Wonka event in Glasgow that has gone viral this week. He was offered £500 for his performance but noticed three 'suspicious signs' that made him rethink.
27 year old performer Tom Whiston was close to taking part in the event which left parents angry and resulted in the police being called. Tom shared how he felt something wasn't right just hours before the event started with the Mirror.
The event in Glasgow ended with upset children and families complaining about the poor quality of the experience. They were promised a fun day out with an "enchanted garden containing giant sweets and mysterious sculptures", but what they got was an AI written mess and some awful-looking props.

Parents attending the event said their children only received a few jelly babies instead of the promised "paradise of sweets".
Tom, who lives in the Merchant City area of Glasgow, was ready to perform at the event but changed his mind after becoming suspicious. His suspicions began around February 14, just one week before the event, when he did some online research, reports The Mirror Online.
He thought the House of Illuminati's website and social media gave the Willy Wonka experience "a circus vibe".
The comedian told The Mirror that he spotted three red flags: the House of Illuminati website's images looked like they were made by a computer, the site talked about "immersive experiences", and he was worried about messages from the company, which is near Old Street in Central London.
