Mezi Ikemba 'offered' Celtic trial as Nigerian wonderkid vows to showcase skills and grab dream chance
Celtic have reportedly offered Nigerian teenage wonderkid Mezi Ikemba a chance to impress at Parkhead.
Still only 15, the rising star is currently playing for Texas-based San Antonio in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) with reports saying he has caught the attention of Celtic’s scouting network with his impressive performances.
And the player is quoted by Nigerian website blueprint.ng saying he has been offered an opportunity to travel to the Scottish Premiership champions. He said: “I’m thrilled and honoured to have received this incredible opportunity from Celtic. It has been my lifelong dream to play for a club that has such a rich history and passionate fan base. I am determined to make the most of this trial and showcase my talent to the best of my abilities.”
Already standing at 6ft 1in, the player is described as having “exceptional goal-scoring abilities and technical finesse setting him apart from his peers” and that “the trials that lie ahead promise to be a crucial turning point in Ikemba’s career, as the prodigious youngster aims to conquer new frontiers and etch his name into the storied history of Celtic Football Club.”
