'Class above' - Why Leicester City star improves when Jamie Vardy is on the pitch

Former Man City defender Micah Richards believes Harvey Barnes was "a class above" as Leicester City beat Leeds United on Saturday.

Barnes scored the only goal of the game as City recorded back-to-back Premier League wins following their midweek victory over Burnley.

Analysing his performance on Match of the Day, Richards was full of praise for the way Barnes has improved and went into detail about what made his performance so good.

"He was a class above today. Special mention to Vardy as well for his running in behind," Richards said. "But Barnes was the one. I thought he was the best player on the pitch.

"His movement... he's known for just being one-dimensional but I really liked his game when he was coming inside, linking up. I thought his passes were good.

"He wasn't resting on his laurels. Getting into the box and the areas where he can make a difference.

"We know how good he is at this part (running at full-backs). He can go both ways. Stuart Dallas had a tough afternoon against him.

"This (the build-up to the goal) is the piece I really like. He's improved his composure and link-up. It's a wonderful little pass from Iheanacho and it's a superb finish, it really is.

"I feel as though Barnes plays a lot better when Vardy's involved in the game and he's making the runs in behind. It just frees up the space.

"He had a wonderful game all the way through."
